Fremantle local, Michael and his partner purchased a two-bedroom one-bathroom Liv Apartment as an investment property. Michael currently owns a house in Fremantle and his purchase of a Liv Apartment is part of his retirement plan.

  1. Why did you choose Liv?

The location of Liv Apartments is one of the main reasons why we decided to make a purchase.

Being a Fremantle local and artist, it was important to us to buy an apartment that was in the heart of the thriving arts and culture hub – especially because we plan to downsize and live in the apartment in the future.

  1. What was it that set Liv apart from other properties you might have considered purchasing?

Defense Housing Australia (DHA) has a great reputation for successfully developing and managing properties and we have peace of mind to know Liv Apartments will be well managed.

Also, we believe Liv Apartments will have opportunity for capital improvement as there are several developments in Fremantle including Kings Square which will more than likely enhance the property’s overall value.

  1. Did the $5,000 deposit play a part in your decision?

It wasn’t a major deciding factor as we have put down a $10,000 deposit however, it was great to know!

  1. What about the following features: sustainability design focus, size of the apartment, architecture and pet-friendliness?

When reviewing Liv Apartments, I was very impressed with the architecture, design and layout.  And although we don’t have pets at the moment, it was great to know that Liv is pet-friendly, as this might be something we will consider in the future.

  1. What attracted you to choose an apartment vs a house? E.g. Attractions of apartment-living – downsizing? Convenience? Ease of care and maintenance?  

Apartments are the future. I have previously lived in apartments and I found it very convenient and easy to maintain. I foresee myself and my partner will downsize so it’s great to know there is an apartment for us when we are ready.

  1. Was the Fremantle location part of the attraction – what do you like about Fremantle?  

Yes, I am a Fremantle local and couldn’t imagine buying an investment property anywhere else. Fremantle is a thriving city and I have so many memories from walking around the coast of Australia from Fremantle in 2015 for a good cause to being actively involved with the Fremantle Men’s Community Shed – it’s somewhere I plan to stay for many more years.

  1. How did you find out about Liv Apartments?

Living close by to the construction of Liv Apartments and sales office I have been either driving or walking past daily. Upon further discussions with my partner we decided to go visit the sales offices where we spoke to representatives who helped us tremendously. Sales representatives appeared to have integrity and knew what they were talking about and made the process very easy.
